This week we are recommending you check out Melbourne band Quivers!
Quivers call themselves a “cathartic jangle pop band”, and to our ears have elements of early REM, the Go-Betweens, and even New Zealand guitar pop bands like the Chills or 3d’s. They performed at the first Melbourne Weirder Together event a few months back, and everyone in the room fell head over heels in love with them.
On August 9 they released their exceptional new album “OYSTER CUTS” via legendary US indie label MERGE RECORDS (home of Superchunk, Arcade Fire and Magnetic Fields amongst others).
Somehow, their international rise has larely gone unnoticed by Australian music media and music fans, so we are here to correct that!
